Organized by the Croatian Law Centre, in cooperation with students and the Department of Administrative Science at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, the conference “Youth on the New European Agenda” was held on May 9, 2025. The event was financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.
The conference brought together students, experts, and institutional representatives to collectively reflect on the future direction of European policy and the importance of youth participation in decision-making processes.
The conference featured four content-rich segments:
- Zrinka Ujević, Head of the European Commission Representation in Croatia, highlighted the key priorities of the European Commission in its new mandate – competitiveness, security, digital transformation, and defense.
- Dr. sc. Marinko Ogorec provided an analysis of the development of European security policy, with a focus on the EU’s strategic autonomy and contemporary threats.
- An interactive workshop, led by students of the Faculty of Law and Assistant Karlo Kožina, addressed the fight against disinformation and the role of EU mechanisms.
- In the panel discussion, experts from various fields related to European policies and institutions discussed the future of the EU, with an emphasis on green policies, migration, and enlargement.
The conference reaffirmed the importance of involving young people in European processes and emphasized the need for continued awareness and dialogue on the challenges shaping Europe’s future.
