The Croatian Law Centre, in cooperation with UNHCR and the Ministry of the Interior, organized a workshop for police officers titled “Access to the International Protection System and Protection of Vulnerable Groups.” The workshop took place on 24 April 2025 at the Police Academy in Zagreb.
The workshop program included lectures and practical exercises covering topics such as the human rights of migrants, access to the international protection system, identification and protection of vulnerable groups, interviewing techniques, and the responsibilities of police officers in the context of migration. The aim of the workshop was to strengthen the capacity of police officers to identify and respond to the needs of persons seeking international protection.
Police officers from the following police administrations participated: Brod-Posavina, Istria, Karlovac, Osijek-Baranja, Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Sisak-Moslavina, and Vukovar-Srijem.
The workshop was held within the framework of the project “Access to the Territory of the Republic of Croatia – Legal Support and Capacity Building,” implemented by the Croatian Law Centre with the financial support of, and in partnership with, UNHCR.
