The Croatian Law Centre, in cooperation with UNHCR and the Ministry of the Interior, organized a one-day workshop for police officers titled “Access to the International Protection System and Protection of Vulnerable Groups.” The workshop took place on September 11, 2024, and was the final one of three workshops planned for 2024. Police officers from the Bjelovarsko-Bilogorska Police Administration, Brodsko-Posavska Police Administration, Karlovačka Police Administration, Koprivničko-Križevačka Police Administration, Ličko-Senjska Police Administration, Osječko-Baranjska Police Administration, Požeško-Slavonska Police Administration, Varaždinska Police Administration, and Vukovarsko-Srijemska Police Administration, attended the event.


The workshop included lectures and practical exercises on topics such as the human rights of migrants, access to the international protection system, identification and protection of vulnerable groups, communication techniques with migrants, and the responsibilities of police officers in dealing with migrants, with special emphasis on the case law of the European Court of Human Rights.
