The Croatian Law Centre, in cooperation with UNHCR and the Ministry of the Interior, organized a one-day workshop for police officers titled “Access to the International Protection System and Protection of Vulnerable Groups.” The workshop was held on September 5, 2024, and was attended by police officers from the Istria Police Department, Primorje-Gorski Kotar Police Department, Zadar Police Department, Zagreb Police Department, Šibenik-Knin Police Department, Split-Dalmatia Police Department, and Dubrovnik-Neretva Police Department.


The workshop included lectures and practical exercises on topics such as the human rights of migrants, access to the international protection system, identification and protection of vulnerable groups, communication techniques with migrants, and the responsibilities of police officers in dealing with migrants, with special emphasis on the case law of the European Court of Human Rights.
