The project is coordinated by the association Krugovi – a center for education, counselling and humanitarian action and is implemented in partnership with the Croatian Law Centre.

Donor:  Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy.

Duration: February 1, 2023 – December 31, 2024.

The project aims at improving the quality of life and protecting the rights of the elderly persons.

Main activity of the Croatian Law Centre as a project partner includes providing lectures on the lifelong support contract (with transfer of property after death) and contract for support until death (with simultaneous transfer of property) for elderly people. It is planned that long-time associate and member of the Croatian Law Centre, Mr.Sc. Olga Jelčić, during the years 2023 and 2024, will hold eight lectures on the topic of lifelong support contract (with transfer of property after death) and contract for support until death (with simultaneous transfer of property) for elderly people in order to inform them about the rights and obligations arising from the respective contracts for both contracting parties, and warn them of potential abuses of trust and harmfulness of such contracts. This activity aims to inform elderly citizens about all the possibilities of entering into those contracts and to prevent potential situations of their exploitation.

In addition, a leaflet with basic information about the aforementioned contracts and instructions on exercising the right to free legal assistance in matters related to the disposal of the property of elderly persons will be prepared.
